Fax directory
Fax numbers for French individual tax offices (SIP)
The individual tax office (service des impôts des particuliers, SIP) handles income tax, property tax and the housing tax on second homes. The official directory publishes a fax number for only some of them: those are listed below, by department.

Open the send formWhat people send by fax
A tax complaint, a reply to a letter from the office, a request for more time to pay, supporting documents you have been asked for. Always state your tax number and the reference of the notice concerned.
Before you send
The secure messaging service in your personal space on impots.gouv.fr remains the preferred channel, and it keeps a record of the exchange. If you fax, keep the transmission receipt: it proves the date of your letter.

Frequently asked questions
Can I make a tax complaint by fax?
A complaint must be made in writing, and the secure messaging in your personal space is the simplest route. Faxing is still possible if the office accepts it: date and sign your letter, attach a copy of the tax notice and keep the proof of transmission.
My tax office is not in the list: why?
The administration directory does not publish a fax number for every SIP. If yours has none, write through the secure messaging in your personal space or by post.
How long do I have to dispute a tax?
As a rule, until 31 December of the second year after the tax was charged for income tax, and of the following year for property tax and housing tax. The tax notice states the applicable deadline.
