Verify the number before transmitting
An administration's number changes more often than one expects, and a directory copied elsewhere ages without warning. Check it on the body's official site the same day: the transmission report will attest that a machine answered, not that it was the right department.

- Does a fax carry a certain date for an administration?
- The time of arrival appears on the report and serves as reference where the procedure provides for it. Where it does not, the administration remains free to use its own registration date.
- What if the department does not confirm receipt?
- Keep the report and follow up through a second channel. The report establishes transmission; it does not oblige the department to acknowledge receipt.
