Short answer
The sending form only accepts PDF. This tool converts your images — phone photos, screenshots, JPG or PNG scans — into a single A4 PDF, one image per page. The conversion happens entirely in your browser: no file is uploaded to a server. The resulting PDF can be passed straight to the fax form, or downloaded.
Convert your images in four steps
- 1
Add your images
Drop one or more images into the upload area, or choose them from your device. Each image becomes a page.
- 2
Put the pages in order
Drag the thumbnails, or use the arrows on each page. Turn a crooked photo a quarter turn and remove any you do not need.
- 3
Improve legibility if needed
For a photo of a document, the black-and-white option whitens the background and sharpens the contrast of the text — which is what the recipient's fax machine prints best.
- 4
Send or download
“Send by fax” opens the form with the PDF already attached: all that is left is to enter the number. “Download the PDF” saves it to your device.
A sharp photo beats any setting
Fax transmits in black and white, at around 200 dots per inch. Photograph the document flat, well lit, with no shadow and cropped tightly: no processing can rescue blurry text. A landscape photo is scaled down to fit the width of an A4 page; rotate it if the document is in portrait.
Frequently asked questions
- Are my images uploaded to a server?
- No. The conversion is carried out by your browser, on your device. Nothing is transmitted until you submit the fax sending form yourself; if you download the PDF, nothing is transmitted at all.
- Which image formats are accepted?
- JPG, PNG and WebP, in all recent browsers. HEIC, the default format for iPhone photos, is read by Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac; photos picked from an iPhone library are in fact usually converted to JPG when you select them. Elsewhere, set your iPhone to “Most Compatible” (Settings > Camera > Formats).
- How much does it cost to fax the PDF?
- A one-page fax is free and unlimited, with no sign-up. A document of two pages or more costs €3.99 incl. VAT per send, however many pages it has. The conversion itself is always free.
- Why are the pages A4?
- The recipient's fax machine prints on A4 paper. Each image is centred on a portrait A4 page with a margin of about one centimetre, the area some machines crop. The text therefore arrives at the right scale, with no edges cut off.
- How large will the file be?
- Photos are scaled to about 300 dots per inch on A4 — more than a fax transmits — then compressed. A document of a few pages usually weighs a few megabytes, well below the form's 100 MB limit.
