Faxing from a smartphone, without an app
A phone is enough. The delicate part is not the transmission: it is the quality of the photographed document.
Short answer
From a mobile browser, transmission requires no app: a PDF file, the number of the target machine and a return address. The difficulty lies in the photo — a shot taken at an angle or in colour produces an unreadable page at the other end.

Scan cleanly
Use the camera's document mode, flat and well lit. It straightens the perspective and produces a PDF, where a raw shot yields a distorted image.

Check the contrast
Transmission reduces each page to black or white, with no shading. Pencil text or a pale stamp vanishes: convert the document to hard black and white first.

Transmit from the browser
The form accepts a PDF from the camera roll or the file manager. The report then arrives by email.
The colour photo trap
A document photographed in colour is reduced to greyscale, then to pure black. The threshold often falls in the middle of the text: mid-grey characters disappear entirely. This is the leading cause of blank pages at the far end, and it stays invisible on the sender's own screen.

- Is an app required?
- No. A mobile browser is enough, on Android as on iPhone. Dedicated apps add only an address book and a history.
- Can a photo be used instead of a PDF?
- The service accepts PDF only. The camera's document mode produces one directly, and the result is far more legible than an image converted afterwards.
